Come to Lawrence, Kansas, October 1-2 to join the Lawrence Bicycle Club and hundreds of other cyclists for the traditional wind-up event of the year. In its 47th year,the Octoginta is truly a fall classic. So come join the festivities this fall. It has never been better!
Known as one of the best rides in the Midwest, the 2016 Octoginta promises to be another great end-of-season ride. The Lawrence Bicycle Club prides itself in going the extra mile to give you the best SAGs and support along with the gorgeous fall foliage that combine for a ride you'll never forget.
Another beautiful route has been chosen for this year’s 80-mile tour through northeast Kansas. In addition to the 80-mile ride, there will be a shorter route – around 45-miles. View the fall colors as you bicycle scenic country roads. Links to route maps will be posted on the ride website one week before the ride.
Sunflower Bike Shop's SAG has become famous for its break- fast fare of bacon, sausage, eggs, French toast and extras sure to fuel up the hungriest cyclist.
The Lawrence Bicycle Club will be serving the traditional minestrone soup and sandwich lunch acclaimed as the best of any ride in the Midwest. Lunch will be served at South Park.
For the 35th year Cycle Works will be providing mechanical support at the ride start and on the route.
The fee is $30 for early registration and $35 for registrations mailed after September 18 or received the day of the ride. The fee includes rest stops and SAG service. Riders may register online or in person the morning of the ride. Registration fees are non-refundable after September 18.
You can register Saturday or Sunday by simply having us electronically scan your driver's licence. No forms to fill out! Then you simply sign the release, pay your fee and you are ready to ride!

Long Sleeve T-shirt
This 2016 edition T-shirt will have the Octoginta logo printed on the chest and will be blank on the back. The shirt will feature Gildan's performance material and be offered in men’s and women's sizing. Make this shirt a valuable addition to your wardrobe. Cost: $20 each.

Entry Fee: $30 (age 10-18 FREE!)
Pre-registration information is available at www.usacycling.org/events. Event held under USA Cycling (USAC) permit. All USAC rules apply. All participants must have USAC annual license or purchase one-day license for $10.

Registration is between 7-8:15 a.m. Start off the Octoginta Weekend by testing yourself in "the race of truth" – an individual time trial! Categories available for all ages and skills.
Riders start at one-minute intervals and race out and back over a flat course. This event also will serve as a fund-raiser for Women's Free State Racing Team.
Location: Parking and registration at DeSoto's Riverfest Park - 33440 W 79th St. Northwest of downtown DeSoto, KS.
Merckx style class for men and women. (No areo bars, TT helmets, areo wheels or TT bikes. Only regular road bikes.) There will also be an Adaptive category.
8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. — Pre-registration
Come down to South Park at 11th and Massachusetts Street, between 8 a.m.-4 p.m., to register and pickup your packets. Beat the Sunday morning rush and register on Saturday!
9:30 a.m. — Tour de County
Enjoy this 30-mile round-trip ride through pastoral Douglas County. Return for brunch at downtown Lawrence. The ride departs from South Park at 11th and Massachusetts Street, with a SAG at the halfway point. Fee: $5.

The ride start begins at 8:30 a.m. at South Park on Massachusetts Street near downtown. Please be registered and checked in before this time.
All events are subject to postponement or cancellation. There are no refunds because of bad weather. All announcements will be made on Sunday at the South Park or check the website at www.lbc-cycling.com.
